Envelope / Control
Rhythmic binary-pattern generator synchronized to the BPM currently set in Syntropy. It runs from the normal per-note position, the same time base as pos().
Syntropy 2 change: the current form is binary(pattern, line). The BPM is now taken from the host or from Syntropy's current BPM setting. Older version-1 formulas could store a legacy 3-argument form with an explicit BPM value; Syntropy 2 converts that form automatically on load and keeps only the pattern and line arguments.
Use integer bit patterns such as 43690 for alternating 16-step movement. The BPM is not typed into the formula anymore; it is taken from the host or from Syntropy's current BPM setting.
0.5 + 0.5*binary(43690, 1)
Use binaryarp(pattern, line) when the rhythm should follow the arpeggiator step position instead of the normal note position. Factory presets often multiply binary() with oscillator or noise layers to create tempo-locked pulses, trance gates, or rhythmic filter accents.
