envloop()

envloop(stretch, presetEnvelope)

Category

Envelope / Control

Description

envloop() reads an envelope stored inside the currently loaded preset, just like env(), but instead of holding the last value it wraps back to the start and keeps repeating forever.

Arguments

Typical Values

Stretch around 0.5 to 8.0 is typical. 1.0 plays one loop at normal speed; smaller values make the loop cycle faster, and larger values make it cycle slower.

Example

envloop(1, 0)*saw(X)
lp(saw(X), 0.03 + 0.20*envloop(2,0), 0.15)

Notes

Use envloop() when you want a repeating motion shape stored in the preset itself. Preset envelopes can be edited graphically in the Envelope Editor opened from the Envelopes button in the Edit view toolbar. If a formula uses several looped envelope readers, Syntropy assigns the internal reader instances automatically; write envloop() for all of them.
