param()

param(index)

Category

Envelope / Control

Description

Returns one of Syntropy's user parameters. Syntropy 2 provides 16 parameter slots, from index 0 to 15. Values are normally 0.0 to 1.0 and are named and initialized by the [Name: value; ...] macro.

Arguments

Typical Values

Index range is 0 to 15. Factory presets commonly map param() to attack, release, cutoff, resonance, drive, LFO amount, FX tone, or gain macros in the square-bracket header.

Example

lp(saw(X), 0.04+0.32*param(2), 0.18+0.55*param(3))

Notes

If the formula header names fewer than 16 parameters, the remaining slots stay unnamed and are usually left unused. In factory presets, param() is the main macro-control layer that lets one formula become a playable patch instead of a fixed sound.
