Description

Peaking or bell filter. It emphasizes or reshapes a focused area of the spectrum and is useful for vocal emphasis, body, presence, and controllable resonant color.

Arguments

• input: audio/control signal to process
• freq: normalized center frequency
• amount: peak emphasis amount

Typical Values

Use frequency around 0.03 to 0.35. Keep amount moderate at first, then push it for stronger, more characterful spectral focus.

peak(pdsin(X,0.35), 0.08+0.22*param(2), 0.35+0.45*param(3))

Notes

A peaking filter is useful when you want to bring out a sweet spot rather than simply darken or brighten the whole sound.
