Description

Creates the same gated descending saw segment as pulsesaw(), but uses a width argument instead of an explicit end position.

Arguments

• x: oscillator phase; use X for played MIDI pitch
• start: segment start position in the waveform period, 0.0 to 1.0
• width: segment length inside the period; start+width must stay below 1.0

Example

0.25*pulsesawwidth(X, 0.12, 0.48)

Notes

Modulate start or width slowly for phase-cut and moving-formant style tones. Very narrow segments are bright, so oversampling is recommended.
