Description

Shelf filter for broad tonal balance changes. It is useful when you want to tilt a sound darker or brighter in a gentle, musical way.

Arguments

• input: audio/control signal to process
• freq: normalized turnover frequency
• amount: shelf amount

Typical Values

Start with frequency around 0.04 to 0.20 and amount around 0.25 to 0.75. Small changes can already be musically useful.

Example

shelf(supersaw(X,0.20), 0.07+0.10*param(2), 0.35+0.35*param(3))

Notes

A shelf is a good choice when a sound needs broader tone shaping than a narrow peak or a more obvious resonant filter sweep.
