MPE / Note Expression
Returns per-note timbre in the range 0.0 to 1.0. This follows MPE timbre or CC74-style note expression and is ideal for cutoff, brightness, wave shape, formant amount, or blend movement per held note.
Defaults to 0.0 until the corresponding note expression event arrives from the host.

On many expressive controllers this corresponds to Y axis motion. Each note can have its own independent timbre() value while other notes continue sounding differently.
