Filter / Vocal Formant Color

Description

vowel() applies a vowel-style resonant color to an input signal. It is useful for choir pads, talking leads, robot voices, and formant-like movement when a lighter vowel control is desired.

Arguments

• input: audio/control signal to process
• vowel: normalized vowel position, usually 0.0 to 1.0
• amount: formant/color strength

Example

vowel(saw(X)+0.25*pwm(0.5*X,0.4), 0.10+0.70*param(0), 0.20+0.60*param(1))

Notes

Use vowel1(), vowel2(), and vowel3() when several independent vowel/formant states are needed in one stereo or parallel formula.
