wgc()

wgc(index, excitation, feedback, damping)
wgc1(index, excitation, feedback, damping)
wgc2(index, excitation, feedback, damping)

Category

Oscillator / Resonator / Physical Modeling

Description

wgc() is part of Syntropy's physical modeling waveguide family. It is a higher-quality version of wg() that uses cubic interpolation inside the tuned delay line.

The function is useful for plucked strings, resonant struck strings, mallet-like sounds, and other waveguide-based physical modeling patches where smoother pitch movement and higher interpolation quality are needed.

wgc1() and wgc2() are independent state instances. Use them when one formula needs two or three separate waveguides without shared feedback memory.

Arguments

Example

0.7*wgc(X,(white()+0.25*sin(2*X))*fromtoin(1,0,40+600*param(0)),0.985+0.014*param(1),param(2))*release(3000+50000*param(3))
[Excite: 0.25; Feedback: 0.65; Damping: 0.35; Release: 0.45;]

Notes

Use wgc() instead of wg() when smoother interpolation is more important than minimum CPU cost.
